Our team members at ALTO Garden are very passionate about residential micro-farming and the benefits it provides.  For the common home, we advocate home-grown hydroponics as an easy way to farm your own produce over and over again.  It's also very sustainable.  Hydroponic systems recycle water for irrigation vs. traditional soil gardening where most of the water is lost in the ground.  Produce can be grown steps away from your dining table, instead of trucked from hundreds of miles away, drastically reducing its carbon footprint.  And because you’ve grown it yourself – you know your produce is GMO free, and grown without any pesticides or chemicals.

Within the hydroponic world – we found that hydroponic towers in particular, have additional benefits like growing vertically which takes up a lot less space.  In less than 1 square meter you can grow 24 pots of lettuce, vegetables, and herbs.  This makes them more space-efficient outdoors, but especially indoors where space is limited.  Hydroponic towers are easily portable.  They can be kept outdoors in the milder months and placed indoors when temps get too hot or cold, offering a lot of flexibility.  Since hydroponic towers use interval-based watering, they introduce aeroponic growing methods which expose roots to the air, for more oxygen uptake leading to faster growth and greater yields.

Our years of experience in micro-farming has led to the design of our ALTO Garden towers.  We think tower farming is the best way to grow at home, and offers unique advantages.  It’s easy to learn and it’s repeatable. It’s also great tasting, farm-to-table fresh, and more nutritious.
