Hydroponic Tower Gardens

Healthy, Delicious Produce Grown at Home

How to Use the Tower

Germinate

Plant seeds in the included rockwool cubes. A germination light (pictured) also comes included with your tower.

Transfer

After your seeds have germinated, transfer the seedlings to your hydroponic tower by inserting them into each of the net pots.

Harvest

About 3 weeks after transferring, your tower will be ready for harvest!  Enjoy delicious organic produce, grown at home.

ALTO Garden GX Tower Harvesting

Harvesting the ALTO Garden GX Hydroponic Tower Garden is easy and fun to do.  In this video we are using the "cut-and-come-again" method of harvesting where you pick the outer-bottom leaves, while leaving the rest of the plant to continue growing.  Leaves will soon grow back, allowing you to "come-again" and harvest the same plant throughout the season.  We perfer this harvesting method because it yields the most food over the long run.

It's a satsifying feeling to eat food you've grown yourself.  The best part is everything the tower can grow is healthy.  And because you've grown it yourself, you know no pesticides or other chemicals were involved.

The ALTO Garden GX Tower grows food hydroponically.  More specfically, because the tower garden uses an interval-based watering method, it grows aeroponically.  With aeroponics - your plant roots are exposed to more air than water, over the course of the day!   This allows your roots to more freely absorb oxygen from the air, leading to 3x faster growth.

For Indoor or Outdoor Growing

The ALTO Garden GX Hydroponic Tower can be used indoors or outdoors to flow with the changing seasons. Because the GX Tower is portable you can keep your tower outside during the milder seasons and bring it indoors when temperatures get too hot or cold. You might choose to move your tower outdoors to better accommodate different types of plants too.  For example – plants which require pollination such as some species of cucumbers and tomatoes, can be easier to grow outdoors.  Bees will stop by your tomatoes to help pollinate and a nice outdoor breeze can help with pollination too.  You can see in our photo that the GX Tower does quite well with vining plants!

When using the GX Tower outside you don't need the LED grow lights.  You’ll have the natural sun to provide all the wavelengths your plants need.  If you’re moving your tower from indoors to out, stow away your LED grow lights for a while.  You can bring them back into play when moving your tower back inside.  With industry leading 2mm thick walls - the tower garden has a durable, rugged construction that can easily handle outdoor use.  It won’t fade or discolor, even after being left outside in the summer sun.  Being able to use the ALTO Garden both indoors and outdoors really highlights the utility of the tower.

Vertical gardens save a lot of space, even outdoors too!  You can see in our photo how much growth the tower can support in such a small footprint.  Growing this much on land would require 20 – 30 square feet. The space efficiency of hydroponic tower gardens is really unmatched when compared to traditional gardening.  You’ll also enjoy tremendous water savings, up to 95%!  With soil gardening most of your water is lost in the ground, but the GX tower recycles water up and down the system.

Our Customers Love Their ALTO Garden

What our Customers Say...

  • We live in a condo so don’t have space for a traditional garden. While I had a few small planters on our balcony, it gets quite windy (and cold) where we live. Plus, there wasn’t enough sunlight in the winter. Enter – ALTO GARDEN. What a difference to grow indoors in a controlled environment. I have more pots to grow in too… we are growing parsley, basil, chives, and a few lettuce varieties in our tower. Hydroponics lets us enjoy food we can grow ourselves. Highly recommend!

  • As a newbie to hydroponics, I wasn’t sure what to expect but let me tell you… it really works! It’s so nice to pick fresh lettuce off our tower for our dinner salad. And we don’t have to wash everything and wait for the leaves to dry either. Just pick and eat. We pick the outer leaves and the inner leaves grow out again rather quickly. Definitely recommend you give it a try. It feels like sustainable farming. It feels good to grow our own food and it’s a good lesson for our kids too.

  • This is my second hydroponic tower. The ALTO GARDEN GX is made of high quality parts, unlike our first tower which used this thin, brittle plastic. I was pleasantly surprised at the thickness of the plastic on the ALTO GARDEN. There’s also a built-in timer on the light base which goes on top of the tower. The light base rotates so you can adjust where the lights are. You can also extend the lights closer, or further away from your plants as they grow. Really good design on this tower.

  • We are so happy with our ALTO GARDEN GX Tower. When buying lettuce and herbs at the grocery store I was so concerned about washing everything. It’s so nice to have organically grown food right in my kitchen. The lights are on a timer. The water pump is on a timer too, so it’s pretty automated. I make sure to check the PH of the water and add nutrients once a week. That’s about it. Really easy to maintain my tower garden and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
