The ALTO Garden GX Tower is a hydroponic growing system which grows vegetables, fruits and herbs without soil. The base of the plant is supported by net pots, which are inserted into the sides of the tower. Plants are watered through the use of an included water pump and gravity. Water is pumped up to the top of the tower and irrigates the plants on its way back down. Water flows into the reservoir tank at the bottom and is circulated back up the tower to repeat the process.
Unlike traditional gardens - the GX Tower grows food vertically, towards the sky. The small footprint of this vertical garden increases yield per square foot making growing more efficient. Growing a head of lettuce in a traditional farm or garden requires approximately one square foot of land. But in less than 3 square feet - you can grow 24 heads of lettuce (or more) with a hydroponic tower.
Watering
Water is pumped from the reservoir tank to the top of the tower with a rigorously tested, high-grade water pump which comes included. The ALTO Garden GX Tower has been specifically designed to ensure even water distribution to all 24 pots as water flows back down the tower. Every single pot will be watered evenly to support a healthy root structure with proper hydration.
With soil, only a small fraction of the water used is actually retained by the plant. Most of the water just soaks into the ground. But since hydroponic towers recycle water up and down the tower, you'll experience tremendous water savings.
Also included is a timer to automate your watering schedule. A common question we get is how long do you leave the water running? Actually – it’s better to set a watering interval instead of a continuous flow. To start, we suggest a watering cycle of 15 minutes on, followed by 45 minutes off. Run this interval for 14 – 18 hours a day, depending on the temperature. Adjust watering as needed. For example, mature plants require less frequent watering than younger plants.
Because water is recycled up and down the tower, the GX Tower uses 95% less water than traditional growing methods! This water savings is a huge benefit of growing with aeroponics.
Tower Construction
The GX Tower Garden includes 24 pots. It is 6 layers tall, with 4 pots per layer. You'll have 24 pots to grow spinach, kale, peppers, cilantro, lettuce, strawberries, tomatoes… and several other varieties of vegetables, herbs and fruits. Compared to other towers, the net pots of the GX Tower are spaced further apart to allow more room for plant growth. When pots are clustered too close together, plants can crowd into each other making them compete for water and light. This often leads to stunted growth and maturity. The ALTO Garden GX Tower provides plenty of space for all your plants to grow and thrive until they’re ready for harvest.
We have designed our tower with your family in mind to ensure everyone is consuming the highest quality produce. Our tower components are made of food-safe polypropylene which is 100% BPA free. Further, the walls of the ALTO Garden GX Tower are an industry-leaading, 2 millimeters thick. Each layer of the tower is comprised of a solid one-piece construction, 360 degrees around, to prevent leakage. The GX Tower will last for years without deforming or cracking and you can rest assured that only the highest quality components are being used to grow your food.

Fantastic product
This is my first time getting into hydroponics and I'm loving it! This is a very well built tower garden. The parts seem durable and it assembled together smoothly. I'm using it outdoors and the plants in my tower are growing faster than my soil garden. This hydroponic tower really works! Considering getting another one for my kitchen.
